For sale is an International COF-4070B Transtar II from 1980/81.
History: The vehicle originally came to Austria as a geophysical survey truck to work for ÖMV. After several changes of ownership, it ended up in my possession. Unfortunately, only the original chassis could be saved from the vehicle, which is why it was converted. The vehicle has an original mileage of 41,000 miles.
Documents: The truck is registered as a 'self-propelled work machine with a top speed of 90 km/h'. The vehicle is registered, and the license plates are on deposit. The roadworthiness inspection ('Pickerl') is valid until 09/2026. The original manuals, spare parts list, and 'Line Setting Ticket' are also included. The Line Setting Ticket enables you to identify and order matching spare parts from the USA and Canada.

Technical details: The truck is powered by a 230 hp Cummins NH series engine. The transmission is a Fuller RT-9509. From there, the primary driveshaft connects to a Spicer transfer case, on which the PTO (power take-off) is mounted, and then continues to the dual drive axles.
The technology is completely original and fully functional. However, due to the age, potential issues can arise at any time. Some minor maintenance is still needed, for example, the cab tilt pump and the Brake Master require servicing (service parts are included).
Conversion: As previously mentioned, only the chassis could be saved, as the superstructure was completely stripped. To preserve the vehicle’s original character, it was converted as a 'work machine'. I won’t go into too much detail here—please refer to the pictures for more information. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via email or simply give me a call.
Other: I am selling the vehicle because I have enjoyed owning it long enough. Although I am not finished with it yet (the original fifth wheel is still outstanding), I have made considerable progress with the restoration given my resources. There are also personal reasons, which I do not wish to elaborate on here.
The vehicle comes with its complete equipment package (lashing chains, straps, toolbox, width marker boards, flags, tire wraps, etc.). Included in the sale price are various spare parts, servicing materials, the original seats, filters, bowden cables, cab marker lights, and basically everything that has accumulated over the years. Personal items that have been added over time are excluded.
The listed price is negotiable; however, please refrain from 'What is your best price?' calls. For camper enthusiasts: the vehicle is fitted with leaf spring suspension which will destroy any melamine tableware. Test drives are generally possible, but only under suitable weather conditions. You should be familiar with double clutching and rev-matching. As this is a used vehicle/classic truck, all warranty and guarantee claims as well as returns and refunds are excluded.
