Info 100 km/h with unbraked trailer:

The regulation is as follows: for an unbraked trailer, if you wish to use the 100 km/h approval (if registered), a factor of 0.3 applies between the unladen weight of the towing vehicle and the permissible total weight of the trailer (worst-case scenario). Therefore, for a 750 kg trailer you need a towing vehicle with 750 / 0.3 = 2500 kg unladen weight.

If you do not have this, you can have the trailer downgraded (TÜV approval in Germany). For example, if your towing vehicle has an unladen weight of 1600 kg, the trailer must be downgraded accordingly to 1600 x 0.3 = 480 kg. You must then manage with the remaining payload allowed, regardless of the towing vehicle or speed.

Furthermore, the permissible total weight of the trailer may not exceed the unbraked towing capacity (O2) registered in your vehicle papers.

Note on LED:

With some car models, the LED trailer lighting may not function correctly. This situation occurs most frequently with newer cars and is caused by the low current draw of LED technology. For the lights on the trailer to function properly, the vehicle or towbar must be fitted with an additional module that supports LED lighting. Lorries does not supply this module in production trailers.
