Info – 100 km/h with unbraked trailer:
The following applies: for unbraked trailers, to use the 100 km/h permit (if registered), the empty weight of the towing vehicle must be at least the trailer’s permissible total weight divided by 0.3 (the least favorable case). For a 750 kg trailer, you need a towing vehicle with 750 / 0.3 = 2500 kg curb weight.

If you do not have this, the trailer can be derated (by TÜV). For example, if your tow vehicle curb weight is 1600 kg, the trailer must be derated to 1600 x 0.3 = 480 kg. The remaining payload will then have to suffice, regardless of vehicle and speed.

In any case, the permissible gross weight of the trailer must not exceed the unbraked towing capacity entered in the registration (O2).

Note about LED lighting:
On certain car models, LED trailer lights may not function correctly. This issue most often occurs on new vehicle models due to the low power consumption of LED technology. For proper trailer light function, the vehicle or towbar must be equipped with an additional module that supports LED lighting. Lorries does not supply this module with production trailers.
