Information on 100 km/h unbraked trailers:

The following applies: for unbraked trailers, if you wish to use the 100 km/h authorisation (if registered), a factor of 0.3 applies between the towing vehicle’s unladen weight and the trailer’s permissible total weight (worst-case scenario). Thus, for a 750 kg trailer, you need a towing vehicle with an unladen weight of 750 / 0.3 = 2500 kg.

If you do not have this, the trailer can be downrated (by TÜV). For example, if your towing vehicle has an unladen weight of 1600 kg, the trailer must be downrated to 1600 x 0.3 = 480 kg. You must then operate the trailer with the reduced payload, regardless of towcar or speed.

Furthermore, the trailer’s permissible total weight must not exceed the unbraked trailer towing capacity (O2) entered in the vehicle registration.

Note on LED lighting:

On some car models, the LED trailer lighting may not work properly. This most commonly occurs with newer models and is caused by the low power consumption of LED technology. To ensure proper trailer lighting functionality, the vehicle or towbar must be equipped with an additional module that supports LED lighting. Lorries does not supply this module with production trailers.
